Malcolm and Yvette 2

I have been so busy over the last few weeks that posting on this blog has become a bit behind.
I thought I would revisit Malcolm and Yvette's wedding, just so I can mention the Chef. She made the cake for this wedding and it was something a bit different. I may have seen something like this before, but do not remember it. Anyway, 100 cup cakes of three different flavours made an impressive sight. In the above photo I have just the top of it, so you can see the detail.

Clever Kids 2

The Chef says she is very pleased with the magnetic knife rack. She says it holds even her largest knives quite securely. Michael points out that it took a long time to sand and polish the brass rods.
Clever kids.

Clever Kids

Michael, our 16 year old, says that some time ago he was watching a TV program, and saw a knife rack made with strip of magnet.
Faced with having to design and make something for a project at school, he thought he would use the idea and make a gift for the Chef, his mother. The above photo is the result. Now when he is asked by his mother for 'a hand', he will be able to say he has given her one already. In the next post you will see it in use.

Adam's Cake

Jo, who is married to me, is famous for her cakes. In this blog she will be known as the 'Chef', because that is what she does. The Chef maintains you can't have a party for any reason without having a cake.
The above photo is of the cake she made for Adam's Baptism. It was a carrot cake, and stood about 20cm high.
The Chef does not have a blog, but if you want the recipe for this or any other cake, you should leave a comment here.
Adam will be around for 70, 80 even 90 years, but I can tell you the cake did not last long.
